1. Visit Cades Cove
Cades Cove is home to an 11 mile one way loop in the heart of the cove. It is a great place to drive, bike, walk, or run. Along the loop you will find several places to stop and enjoy the history. There is a church, barn, cemetery, cabins, the mill, along with some of the greatest scenery in the Smokies. Abrams Falls is a 2.5 mile (5 mile round trip) hike that is located off the loop. The Cove also has a picnic area with a creek flowing on both sides.
2. Shop at Tanger Outlet
There is something to do for everyone in Pigeon Forge. Tanger Outlet is a great place to shop. Many name brand stores have outlets here. If you are looking for discounts, Tanger is the place for you. No trip would be complete without stopping here.
3. The Island Pigeon Forge
The Island at Pigeon Forge is relatively new. We find it a great place to go spend a couple of hours walking around. There are a couple of really good restaurants, many small specialty shops, along with the dancing water set to music. You will often find live entertainment and plenty of rocking chairs if you just want to sit and watch the people. The Island hosts the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, a 200 foot ferris wheel with all glass gondolas that seat 8. The Island also features several other games and activities for children and adults. It is a great place for family fun.
4. Ziplining
Ziplining has become one of the most popular activities in the area. While there are several to choose from, Legacy Mountain Zip Lines is located less than 1/4 mile from Mountain Playhouse Cabin. Check out the video below for details. This is truly a different way to see the views of the Smokies. Discount coupons are available at several locations.
